QBC are pleased to announce that they have signed their first Contract with Aurizon for the Oakey Creek Rail Bridge Replacement ProjectThis project involves the demolition of an existing culvert and bridge structures and the construction of an eight span concrete bridge over Oakey Creek on North Coast rail line, approximately 30 km south of Rockhampton. 

 

QBC look forward to working with Aurizon for the successful delivery of this project.

QBC are pleased to announce that they have been awarded the Monto - Mt Perry Road Upgrade Project by the Department of Transport and Main Roads (Bundaberg)This project involves the upgrade of a 5km section of Monto - Mt Perry Road, the construction of a new 3 span concrete bridge and significant drainage improvements.

We are pleased to advise that QBC have been awarded the Stringybark Road Pedestrian and bicycle Bridge by the Sunshine Coast Council (SCC).

Located in Sippy Downs this project includes the construciton of a pedestrian bridge, boardwalk approaches and concrete pavements to improve pedestrian and bicycle movement through this University Precinct.

QBC look forward to working closely with the SCC for the successfully delivery of this project.

We are pleased to advise that QBC have been awarded the Mary and William Street Intersection Upgrade by Ipswich City Council (ICC).

Located in Blackstone this project includes the upgrade of this intersection, including pavement upgrades, alignment improvements and traffic signals to improve traffic flows.

QBC have been awarded the Landslip Remediation Project by Lockyer Valley Regional Council (LVRC). This project includes the remediation of landslips at six locations on four separate roads as a result of three major flood events from November 2021 until May 2022.

Located in Toowoomba between James Street and Nelson Street these works include the Upgrading of 9 Intersections to improve traffic flows through Toowoomba.

QBC is proud to announce that we have been awarded the Western Park 'N' Ride upgrade at Carseldine by the Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR).

 

Having worked with DTMR in 2020 - 2021 for the successful delivery of the eastern Park 'N' Ride QBC were engaged to provide constructability input into the design and assist in the fast tracking of this project. This $11.5M project includes a carpark upgrade, concrete pavement bus interchange, bus driver faciltiies, bicycle enclosure and provides a new entrance off Balcara Street to accomodate the upcoming Beams Road Level Crossing upgrade to an overpass.

QBC is proud to announce that we have successfully secured the Gladstone Bridge Replacement Package for the Gladstone Regional Council (GRC).

This $8M project includes the replacement of 4 bridges (8 spans in total) and the upgrade of their approaches in the Lowmead and Miriam Vale areas. Works include, bored piles, precast headstock and abutments, precast deck units, transverse stressing, cast in-situ kerbs, earthworks, roadworks, and associated works.

 

This is QBC’s second project for GRC and we look forward to another successful project.

We are pleased to advise that QBC have been awarded the Beaudesert Road and Illaweena Street Intersection Upgrade by the Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR).

 

Located in Parkinson in Brisbane's southern suburbs this project, valued at $16.7M incl. GST with a construction duration of 42 weeks, includes the upgrade of this intersection and includes earthworks, drainage, street lighting, traffic signals, pavements, bitumen seals and asphalt as well as concrete pathways, retaining walls and bus stops.

QBC have achieved a major milestone on the Private Percy Cash Pedestrian & Bicycle Bridge for MBRC with the erection of the deck units.

With the overhead powerlines traversing the site, QBC developed and implemented a complex lift plan and erection methodology. The successful execution of this can be seen by clicking on the below link to a short timelapse video captured by MBRC.

This project involves the construction of a new 8 span concrete bridge over the Boyne River in Mundubbera on Mundubbera - Durond Road.

QBC confirm that we have secured our 12th and 13th bridges for Scenic Rim Regional Council (SRRC) with the award of both Flying Fox & Duck Creek Bridges.

The project scope includes the construction of two 2 span concrete bridges, a side track and the approach works to the Flying Fox bridge.

QBC look forward to delivering another high quality project for SRRC.

I wish to advise that QBC have today, received confirmation via a Letter of Acceptance that we have successfully secured the Flying Fox and Duck Creek Bridges for Scenic Rim Regional Council (SRRC).

 

Valued at approx. $5.5M incl. GST with a duration of 24 weeks this bridge replacement project also includes the upgrade of the Flying Fox Bridge Approaches.

 

As Project Job No. 220 planning and procurement tasks have already commenced and assigned staff will be advised of their involvement shortly.

QBC is pleased to announce that we have been awarded the Private Percy Cash Pedestrian Bridge by the Moreton Bay Regional Council (MBRC).

Located adjacent to the Private Percy Cash Bridge on Mount Samson Road in the Samford Valley this project includes the construction of a 3 span concrete pedestrian bridge, associated batter protection, concrete paving approaches, retaining walls, drainage, watermain relocation and lighting. This bridge will provide a safe, all weather pedestrian crossing point across the South Pine River near the existing road crossing.

QBC look forward to working closely with MBRC for the successful delivery of this project.

This project includes the construction of a single span and 3 span bridge together with the approaches to the Keaveny Bridge on Kerry Road in Darlington.

QBC are pleased to announce that they have been awarded the pavement widening and strengthening to facilitate the Heavy Vehicle Decoupling Facility at the Gatton-Esk Interchange for the Department of Transport and Main Roads (Darling Downs)

 

This project involves the construction of widenings and strengthening of the existing carriageways, and extensions to the acceleration lanes.

QBC are pleased to announce that they have been awarded the Mt Gravatt Capalaba On Ramp Project for Transurban Queensland.

 

This project includes pavement rehabilitation and drainage upgrading of this on ramp to the Gateway Motorway. To minimise the impacts of construction activities during peak traffic volumes, QBC will complete works at night and on weekend’s.

This project includes the pavement rehabilitation and asphalting of nine on and off ramps along the Gateway Motorway.

QBC are pleased to announce that all 5 bridges and the 1.2km section of Beechmont Road have now been completed for the Scenic Rim Regional Council (SRRC). Practical Completion being secured on all sites and the official opening on a number of the bridges has also already taken place.

The completion of these bridges brings the total number of bridges completed by QBC for SRRC in the past 2.5 years to 9.

QBC are pleased to advise that they have been awarded the replacement of the Valentine Creek Bridge and Approaches for the DTMR - Rockhampton.

This project includes the demolition of the existing timber bridge, construction of a new 2 span concrete bridge, upgrading the bridge approaches, construction of a side track and a major culvert replacement 30km west of Rockhampton on the Capricorn Highway.

The Wolston Creek Bridge is now open to traffic (well 1 lane).

 

QBC and BCC have worked together to ensure traffic flows have been maintained throughout the delivery of this project to minimise disruption and facilitate traffic movement for local residents and commuters. This is the first stage in the final traffic staging process which will culminate in the project completion.

QBC Mackay – following the opening of the new inbound bridge (constructed by QBC) over Vines Creek on Mackay-Slade Point Road in north Mackay, piling has commenced on the outbound bridge. With all driven piles already complete, works have progressed onto the bored pier piles.

QBC are pleased to advise that DTMR have awarded them the Tallegalla Road/Lowood-Minden Road Intersection Safety Upgrade on the Warrego Highway.

Following 28 crashes causing injuries (6 involving hospitalisation) occuring at this intersection between 2008 and 2015 DTMR are committed to improve the safety of traffic movements through this intersection.

QBC are very pleased to advise that DTMR have awarded them the Vines Creek Bridges in Mackay. The project includes the replacement of both the inbound and outbound bridge on Mackay-Slade Point Road (Harbour Road). These bridges are a key link in Mackay's transport network as they are the sole access for heavy vehicles travelling to the Port of Mackay.

QR have awarded QBC the Design and Construction of a new Fibre Composite Pedestrian Bridge at Banyo Railway Station. This new bridge will replace the old timber bridge that was removed back in 2006 as it had reached the end of its life span and was strucutrally unsafe.

QBC have been awarded the Wolston Creek Bridge on Wacol Station Road, Wacol. This project involves the construction of a new 3 span concrete bridge with associated approach works and replaces the existing low level load limited bridge. The new alignment will be to the west of the existing road and involves a significant improvement to the flood immunity of this road.

Following the successful delivery of the Six Mile Creek Bridge on Redbank Plains Road, QBC have awarded another bridge for the Ipswich City Council.

This new bridge, also over Six Mile Creek, on Hallets Road is for the replacement of a single lane timber bridge with a new 2 lane, single span concrete bridge. This project also includes the approach works to improve the vertical geometry of Hallets Road.

With works expected to commence in early 2017 QBC look forward to working with the ICC on another successful project.

This project will improve traffic flow and safety through this site and assist in improving traffic flows across the local area in time for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

QBC have today commenced on site with the piling works at their Homestead Drive Railway Overbridge Project.

This project is for the construction of a 2 span concrete bridge over the Brisbane - Sydney railway line. Once complete this bridge will service the Flagstone Area which is currently being developed by PEET within the Logan City Council area.

Works are expected to be completed by May 2017.
